Way out in the quiet corners of Montana, where the mountains stand watch and the wind carries old‑west whispers, the Lozeau Lobos gathered once again for their monthly frontier shootout on Saturday, February 28th. at the Mineral Shooting Sports Range.
Like a true frontier posse, they arrived with grit, good humor, and the kind of camaraderie you only find where leather, iron, and honest fun meet.
🌄 Daybreak on the Firing Line
As the morning light spread across the range, the posse settled in under the covered firing line. Hats tipped low, vests dusted off, and holsters hangin’ ready — the day was officially underway.

Plenty of gesture‑swappin’, stage‑discussin’, and helpful “Now let me show ya somethin’…” advice filled the air. Every good posse knows a solid plan starts with a good conversation.
🔫 Clangin’ Steel and Straight Shootin’
Before long, irons were out and the steel targets out yonder were fixin’ to earn their keep. Each cowboy stepped up, took their stance, and let the frontier spirit guide their aim.

Every shot echoed off the hills like a telegram from the Old West: sharp, clear, and mighty satisfying. The targets took their hits like seasoned veterans, ringin’ bright as morning church bells.
🤠 The Posse Between Shots
While one cowboy worked the line, others swapped tales taller than a saloon’s second story. Some leaned back and studied the steel, others simply soaked in the moment with the relaxed confidence only a frontier shootin’ day can bring.

Whether chattin’, plannin’, or just enjoyin’ the scenery, the posse made the day feel like a page torn straight from a frontier journal.
🪶 Posse Code of the Lozeau Lobos
The Lobos live by the kind of frontier rules that shaped the West:
Shoot honest
Stand by your fellow cowboy
Share a story or two
And always leave the range better than ya found it
By the time the last stage wrapped up, the smell of gunpowder lingered, spirits were high, and another chapter of Lobo history had been carved into the dust.
🌵 See Ya Next Last Saturday, Pardner
The Lozeau Lobos will be gatherin’ again next month — same place, same time, same frontier fun. If February’s shoot was any sign, there’ll be more:
Steel ringin’
Laughter carryin’
And tales that’ll grow taller with every retellin’
Till then, keep your powder dry, your hat tipped just right, and your frontier spirit alive.
